15U Captures Perfect Game PA Fall Select Championship

Playing in the Perfect Game PA Select Fall Championship to wrap up the fall season, the 15U National team found themselves at 1-1 after pool play and the 6th seed heading into the playoff round on Sunday. Looking to finish the fall on a high note, the boys caught fire and never looked back. Round 1 of playoff action saw the Bombers come out victorious over the Mid-Atlantic Show by a score of 13-1. CJ Clayton was lights out on the mound (5IP, 0H) combining with Bucky Long and Ty Custer on a no-hitter. The offense struck quickly and often, putting up 5 runs in the first two innings. The offensive attack was led by Ethan Hunt (1/2 w/ 2BB & 3R), Ty Custer (3/4 w/ 4RBI), and Alex Dorta (2/5 w/ 1R & 2RBI). An offensive barrage, which included HRs from Donovan Thompson, CJ Clayton, and Ty Custer, helped the Bombers claim a 14-2 win over the PA Rebels in a semifinal matchup. Clayton (2/2 w/ 1R & 6RBI), Custer (1/2 w/ 1BB, 1R, & 5RBI), Alex Dorta (2/3 w/ 2R), and Jager Nailor (1/1 w/ 2R & 2RBI) chipped in to pace the offense, while Bucky Long and Landon Soutner combined to stymie the Rebels offense from the mound. In their third game of the day the Bombers once again jumped out to an early lead, scoring 2 in the first and 2 in the second on their way to a 13-0 win in the championship game over Aces Elite. Alex Dorta was lights out on the mound, tossing 6 shutout innings while allowing just 1 hit. The boys outscored their opponents by a score of 40-3 in playoff action on their way to claiming the championship. Ty Custer was named tournament MVP and Alex Dorta was named tournament MVPitcher. This was truly a team effort though, as 7 of the top 15 offensive performances (Custer, Nailor, Dorta, Thompson, Hunt, Clayton, and Nelson), and 4 of the top 15 pitching performances (Dorta, Nelson, Clayton, and Long) were turned in by Bombers
